Why St. John’s

Our own time zone. Our own story.

For starters, we have our very own time zone — in Canada, the sun rises first on Newfoundland and Labrador. We’re home to the oldest street in North America and have welcomed adventurers for more than 500 years.

Own time zone

Newfoundland Standard Time gives the province its own place on the clock.

500+ years of history

Centuries of history, colourful streets and a distinctive sense of place.
